UC Berkeley Subjectivity and Culture Townsend Working Group

You are invited to join the Subjectivity and Culture Working Group next Tuesday, or later this Spring, as indicated in the program.  Our meetings generally take place on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month, from 5:30 to 7, in the Gifford Room of the Department of Anthropology at UC Berkeley.  They aim to be an informal and lively intellectual conversation amongst scholars from a broad range of departments, and are fundamentally interdisciplinary. On March 13th, we will discuss Borneman and Hammoudi's reflections on "the fieldwork encounter and the making of truth" in Being There.  These are centered on anthropology, but are much broader in their implications, and are especially interesting following our exploration of the ethical engagements imbedded in intersubjectivity in Michael Jackson's Things As They Are.
