Dis-locations: Medical Migrations and Human Embryonic Stem Cell Therapies

Aditya Bharadwaj, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Edinburgh, will give a guest lecture on April 10th, titled 'Dis-locations: Medical Migrations and Human Embryonic Stem Cell Therapies in India'. Bharadwaj's research interests are focused on the burgeoning rise of bioscience and biotechnologies in India, in particular on two major contemporary developments in the domain of bioscience in India, namely assisted reproductive technologies and human embryonic stem cells. Through this research Bharadwaj is examining the emerging face of India’s new 'bioeconomy'. The talk will take place in the Gay Becker Conference Room (Room 340) at Laurel Heights campus at 1000 am.
