Carlos Martinez, PhD, joins UC Santa Cruz

Carlos Martinez, PhD, will be joining the Latin American & Latino Studies Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) as an assistant professor of Migrant Health & Social Justice this Fall. In this new role, Carlos will also serve as a core faculty member in UCSC’s new Global and Community Health Program.  

Dr. Martinez is a recent graduate of the joint UCSF-UC Berkeley Medical Anthropology program, a founding member of the REPAIR Project, and a Ford Fellow. Carlos has been an engaged and supportive colleague and friend to many in the department, and we know that UC Santa Cruz will be thrilled to have him on their faculty. We wish him all the best and look forward to his future accomplishments!
